Mx Burlesque Australia is open to performers of all expression of identity and gender.

*Please note that due to the unforeseen nature of live-performance and space restrictions due to Covid restrictions, Mx Burlesque Australia will no longer be holding a national Grand Final.

When national and state Covid conditions stabilize, MBA will move towards a new model for the National competition, which will invite all current and previous State title-holders the opportunity to compete for the Australian titles.

  • Please include your suburb as well as this will enable us to get stories in local newspapers.
  • This bio is for your finalist announcement on the MBA Facebook pages if you are successful in your application. 60 words or under.
  • Please list any achievements and awards.
  • In your performance history or currently, do you have any acts that feature elements from a culture other than your own? If so, please detail/ include footage or images of these acts and, if no longer performed due to cultural appropriation, please include the actions taken to rectify the situation. *Failure to disclose may result in disqualification from the Mx Burlesque Australia competition.

  • As a Mx Burlesque Finalist, you will be required to present two fully developed acts. One for the Striptease performance category and one for the Unique performance category. Please write your act descriptions, as detailed as possible (we understand that these may not be fully developed yet), including any inspirations, act narratives and themes, and potential prop usage.
  • Please give us a link to an example of your Burlesque work. Only one video link is required. This DOES NOT have to be footage of the acts you will be performing for MBA, but just an act you consider to be some of your best work. We highly recommend live, professional standard footage.

  • One professionally shot profile photo of yourself should be uploaded here. Please label the photo file as 'Your stage name, photographers name' i.e.: 'A'dora Derriere, photo by David Woolley'. Photos should be 300dpi and under 3 MB in file size in a jpg, jpeg or png format.
    Accepted file types: jpg, png, jpeg.
    If you identify as Bla(c)k, Indigenous or a Person of Colour, Disabled, Transgender and/ or Non-Binary and would like to be considered for a MBA scholarship program for mentorship that is currently in development, please tick the box.
  • This initial $30 application fee is non-refundable. If you are accepted to compete in the competition, an additional $70 will be required to paid to complete your registration. Representation matters. In a commitment to making our space more welcoming and inclusive for our community, if you identify as Bla(c)k, Indigenous or a Person of Colour, Disabled, Transgender and/ or Non-Binary, you are NOT required to pay the application fee.
